Perspectives: An excellent book

Perspectives is a great resource for anyone looking for information on missions, both local and foreign. It's a big thick book that is comprised of short little articles written by people that have first hand experience. It isn't written in such a way as to compel the reader to forgo sleep because of being totally engrossed yet one will be quite challenged to look at various aspects of reaching people with the Gospel. This should be in everyone's library.

One of the Most Profound Books I've Read

Hardly a textbook, this is essentially a missions anthology. The included selections venture through God's plan for the nations from the time of Abraham to the end of days. Each and every piece has been carefully selected and edited--if it's in the book, it's worth reading!
My only disappointment is that there's no listing of authors for easily finding articles.
Take a Perspectives course--You will never be the same!

Perspectives on Mission Praxis

The editors of this reader, Ralph Winter, the founder of US Center for World Mission and Steven Hawthorne Institute of International Studies, together with subeditors Darrel Dorr, Bruce Graham and Bruce Koch, have gathered a multifaceted collection of readings exploring the biblical, historical, cultural and strategic dimensions on world evangelization. This bulky volume contains more than 150 articles and case studies from mission scholars, thinkers and mission practitioners from around the world that represent clear Perspectives on the World Christian Movement so that the reader can plainly view mission praxis in myriad ways. This book is very comprehensive in nature and is very encouraging to mission lovers and those involved in cross-cultural ministry. It may not be a good academic reference for the growing field of missiology, but it is certainly helpful for those who are trying to understand how mission is operated in multiple cultures in global regions.
